Yoshinogari Keitai-Guide
This pit dwelling is situated close to the front of the entrance to the enclosed special area, and the other houses are set out in a line from the very back of the house. Based on this layout, it can be assumed that this residence was at the center of the special area, and it is therefore assumed to be the house of the head of the family -- in other words the king -- and his wife.
