Yoshinogari Keitai-Guide
This pit dwelling is outside the Southern Inner Enclosure, and is situated between the western and northern gates. Compared with the pit dwellings inside the Southern Inner Enclosure, it is noticeably smaller in scale. This seems to indicate that this dwelling was a guardroom for soldiers defending the Southern Inner Enclosure.
