Yoshinogari's History

Minami no Mura (Now under construction)

This is where the public is believed to have lived in the Yoshinogari village because there are no moats or special structures as found in the Northern and Southern Inner Enclosures. And there is one high-floored storehouse to three or four pit dwellings in the village, which is very similar to general villages found in other parts of Japan. Additionally this village is located in southernmost part in the whole of Yoshinogari, which is supposed to have been influenced by the ancient Chinese concept: The north ranked higher than the south.
